Prof. Dr. Anke Weidlich is Chair for Control and Integration of Grids at INATECH, University of Freiburg and the Academic Director of the Solar Energy Engineering Master Program.

Prof. Dr. Anke Weidlich studied Industrial Engineering and Energy Economics and Energy Policy; then she worked as a research assistant at the Universities of Karlsruhe, Mannheim, and was a visiting scholar at Iowa State University. In 2008, Prof. Dr. Anke Weidlich received her Ph.D. from the university of Karlsruhe. In 2011 she became a Professor for Energy System Technology and Energy Economics, especially focusing on intelligent decentralized structures for a sustainable electricity supply (Smart Grids) at the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg. Since 2017, Anke Weidlich is Chair for Control and Integration of Grids at INATECH, University of Freiburg.

Prof. Dr. Anke Weidlich is a member of the German government expert commission for monitoring the German energy transition, a member of the Board of the Energy Informatics at the German Informatics Society, and of the EWI Scientific Advisory Board.

She is also a Jury Member of the MakeItMatter Awards and the Technical Program Co-Chair of the ACM eEnergy Conference, Singapore 2024.

Her research focus is on Electricity Markets and System Integration; Sustainable Transformation of the Energy System, Flexibility Modeling; Network Modeling and Analysis of Electricity Flows.
